Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - 9 Big Questions The Trailer Raises

4. Will More Hybrid Dinosaurs Feature In The Film?

Jurassic World introduced the concept of hybrid dinosaurs to the series, with Ingen's Frankenstein-esque lab tinkering cooking up the most fearsome creature the series has seen so far: Indominus Rex.

The I-Rex was taken out through a combination of T-Rex, Raptor and Mosasaurus in an epic three-way skirmish at the end of the movie, so does that mean we there won't be any hybrids in Fallen Kingdom?

There don't appear to be any in the trailer, but that doesn't necessarily mean this concept won't be explored further in the sequel. There were plans to include other dino amalgamations in the original Jurassic World at one point.

Director Colin Trevorrow removed a creature called Stegoceratops - a combination of Triceratops and Stegosaurus - early into production because he felt its inclusion would have made the I-Rex feel "less special".

Nevertheless, this unnatural creation is technically canon since it featured in the official Jurassic World toy line and Ludia's mobile game based on the movie, so maybe it will crop up in Fallen Kingdom.
