Jurassic World Reviews: 10 Early Reactions You Need To Know

7. There Are Some Good Practical Effects...

If you were to ask any fan of the original movies (notwithstanding the woeful third installment) what they liked the most about them, one answer would be the way in which they found a perfect balance between practical effects and CGI, integrating the two seamlessly. Perhaps one of the biggest concerns which arose from the Jurassic World trailers was the apparent reliance on CGI, some of which looked pretty bad. Fortunately, early reviews have made it clear that, as with Spielberg's masterpiece, Jurassic World uses a judicious blend of the two, with one reviewer suggesting that one scene in particular uses animatronics with incredible results. It's good to hear that Colin Trevorrow has taken a leaf out Spielberg's books when it comes to using animatronics but that still leaves one unanswered question - just how much of that obvious CGI we saw in the trailers is there in the film as a whole?
