2. The Apokolips Rescue Attempt

Apparently The Flash didn't think to travel back in time to before the point when Superman was kidnapped to warn him what was coming, so the present Justice League still have to mount a rescue attempt to stop him falling into Darkseid's hands completely.

Wonder Woman, Batman and Green Lantern travel to Darkseid's home planet Apokolips - which would have made for a hell of an imaginative sequence - to rescue Superman before Desaad can brainwash him. And from there, the reunited Justice League - as well as the entire Green Lantern Corps (no longer dead) and the Amazons - battle Darkseid's army in their homeland to prevent the invasion of Earth.

So, basically, Justice League's flashback sequence only ported over to Apokolips for a grand finale.
