Justice League: 25 WTF Moments

6. And Nobody Checked On The Scientists

Silas Stone Batman v Superman
Warner Bros.

The scientists sub-plot is so needless to the rest of the film that it just pretty much gets dropped entirely after the rescue sequence that is included mostly just to show off the new Crawler. It's cool, but it's no excuse for sloppy story-telling, which is exactly what happens when it comes to a head.

During the rescue sequence from the tunnels under Metropolis (why he goes down there remains pretty unclear, but it looks cool, right?), The Flash nips in and out, rescuing the scientists and taking them to safety, before Cyborg explains the way to safety.

They flee, but then moments later the underground facility is flooded, prompting Aquaman to save the day and help the heroes get to safety. At no stage does anyone even cast a second thought towards the safety of the scientists, who presumably must have sprinted full-pelt out of there or all drowned tragically.
