Justice League: 8 Big Changes It Will Bring To The DCEU
2. No More Hero 'Deconstruction'
Word has it that Zack Snyder, who has served as the DC Extended Universe's architect since Man of Steel, will not be a part of it going forward.
Although Joss Whedon has been brought in to apply the finishing touches to Justice League following the tragic death of Snyder's daughter, it's still his movie through and through, but it may also be his DCEU swansong.
It's already evident that Justice League is plotting a course away from the Watchmen filmmaker's original vision, which involved deconstructing familiar heroes.
Among other things, this meant a more violent Batman and a neck-breaking Superman, but don't expect this kind of thing to continue in the DCEU for much longer.
DC's creative chief Geoff Johns spoke about the future direction of the firm's movie line at Comic-Con this month, describing his vision as a "celebration" of its existing characters, rather than a "deconstruction".
Snyder's exit from the DCEU has not yet been officially confirmed, but his distinct way of doing things will be less evident from Justice League onward.
