4. Lessons Can Be Learned from The Avengers

I remember being a huge fan of Resident Evil when it came out originally on PS1, in fact I remember thinking it was the best game Id ever played. Then Silent Hill was released by Capcoms rival Konami. Theyd clearly taken lessons from Resident Evil, in abundance in fact, but thanks to that, they actually managed to produce a better game. Resident Evil created the survival horror genre, but Silent Hill perfected it. Im hoping that Warner Bros. will follow suit with their own Superhero Ensemble franchise. As a huge comic book fan, I was blown away by The Avengers. It represented pretty much exactly whats going on in my mind when Im reading a comic book. But it wasnt perfect, not by a long shot. Im really hoping that Justice League screenwriter Will Beall has looked to The Avengers - at what worked and what didnt - when penning his script. Not that Im after a carbon copy, but for me, The Avengers was the first of its kind. As a Superhero Ensemble piece, it stepped into ultimately virgin territory. If lessons have been learned by the Justice Leagues creative team, then this first DC entry (only the second film ever produced within this offshoot arm of the Comic Book Movie genre) then we might just be looking at even greater results.
