Justice League Review: 4 Ups & 7 Downs

1. The Totally Wasted Supporting Cast

Lois Lane Justice League
Warner Bros.

One of the major casualties of the film's two-hour runtime is that the majority of the supporting players are disappointingly underserved.

Amy Adams' Lois Lane, for instance, feels like an afterthought, and she could've basically been cut out completely without affecting the overall narrative too much.

J.K. Simmons is clearly having fun as Jim Gordon, meanwhile, but he shows up for only a few scattered minutes. At least he's in the movie, though, because Willem Dafoe's performance as Aquaman's advisor Nuidis Vulko has been cut out completely, as was Kiersey Clemons' role as The Flash's love interest Iris West.

Billy Crudup makes the best of his scant runtime as The Flash's father Henry Allen, but again, it's blatantly clear his role has been trimmed down to the bare minimum to ensure that brief runtime.

As disappointing as the movie is, though, at least some good came out of the troubled production...
