Justice League Snyder Cut: 10 Reasons It Could Be A TERRIBLE Idea
1. What If It Sucks?
Imagine after years of holding out hope and constantly tweeting and retweeting #ReleaseTheSnyderCut in the hope that Warner Bros. will eventually listen, they finally do the unthinkable and officially announce that the Snyder Cut of Justice League is coming to HBO Max.
Then, you wait patiently and diligently until 2021 as anticipation grows greater by the day, and on the very second it finally hits the streaming service, you immediately hunker down to watch the movie as Zack Snyder originally intended... only to find out that it f*cking sucks.
While that's an admittedly negative angle to take, and by all accounts the Snyder Cut stands to be far superior to the theatrical release of Justice League, the movie has almost become deified by the fan community and expectations will only get higher now that the dream has finally become a reality, while it will also be held to higher standards by those who didn't join the movement but remain curious to see if all the fuss turns out to be worth it in the end.
The Snyder Cut isn't just a superhero movie. The HBO Max exclusive is shaping up to be a full-blown cultural event, and those kinds of zeitgeist-grabbing projects don't come along too often.
With that kind of status comes a lot more pressure to succeed in delivering the rousing, universally acclaimed crowd-pleaser that fans believe Justice League was always destined to be.
So... what if it's still a disappointment?
