Justice League Snyder Cut: 10 Reasons It Could Be A TERRIBLE Idea

4. It Makes Joss Whedon The Clear Scapegoat

Ever since the bastardized version of Justice League was first released into theaters in November 2017, many have held Joss Whedon accountable for the movie's disappointing critical and commercial performance.

While it can't be argued that his lighter and quip-heavy tone feels awkwardly bolted on to Zack Snyder's aesthetic, the announcement of the Snyder Cut makes it clear that the studio are pointing the finger of blame firmly in Whedon's direction.

Warner Bros. seem to be absolving themselves of any responsibility in the movie's failures, despite their continued and well-documented interference in many DCEU projects. With their promise of an all-new and never seen before version of Justice League, it essentially means they're shrugging their shoulders and saying, 'It wasn't us, Joss was the one who f*cked it'.

Whedon's fingerprints may be all over Justice League in many obvious ways, but he was brought in as a gun-for-hire to get the struggling production over the finish line, with WB's insistence that the movie ran for two hours or less the reason why it clocks in at exactly 120 minutes.

Not even the guy that wrote and directed The Avengers has the clout to simply turn up at the eleventh hour and drastically rewrite the entire script for a $300m blockbuster without receiving at least a gentle nudge from his superiors, the same superiors who would reportedly lose out on hefty bonus payments tied to a proposed corporate merger if the movie ended up being delayed.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
