Justice League Trailer Reactions: 7 Ups & 3 Downs
Ups
7. The Additional Humour
When the first footage was released out of Comic Con, the best thing about it (aside from Aquaman OBVIOUSLY) was the suggestion that Snyder was more willing to add in lighter moments to balance the graveness of his drama. The Flash looked like an easy addition of levity, and the first trailer suggests he's pushing these lighter moments.
There's even a slight sense of self-awareness in the way he seems to be presenting Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne: rather than being the relentlessly grim, po-faced misery he seemed to be in Batman v Superman. That approach to his character wasn't entirely wrong, as he was a wounded animal, but it's better to see him in this new put-upon Bat-dad sort of position instead.
He's the Justice League's whipping boy as much as he is the leader, clashing with Aquaman's rock and roll hero and The Flash's mischievous upstart. And those dynamics are easily one of the most exciting thing the film has added to the DCEU.
