Justice League Vs. The Avengers: Which Is Better?

5. Tone

The Avengers effectively created the template for what big-budget superhero team-up movies should be, with a tone that mostly keeps things light, though isn't afraid to get dark when necessary. It's something Whedon is incredibly adept at, and he nails it.

Justice League was at an immediate disadvantage due to the film being worked on by two directors with extremely distinct filmmaking styles and tones.

Whedon's involvement has clearly been an attempt by Warner Bros. to soften the movie's edges and make it more Avengers-esque, though the disparity between Snyder and Whedon's parts is often jarringly distracting.

The quips frequently feel unnatural and inorganic, and come off as trying way too hard to replicate the MCU's delicately-crafted vibe.

Winner: The Avengers, hands down.
