Kevin Bacon: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked
2. Ren McCormack - Footloose
Of course Footloose was going to be near the top - it was the film that made Bacon a movie star. He plays a teenager who moves to a small town that has banned dancing, so he makes it his personal mission to teach the squares how to loosen up. Or to be more title accurate, foot-loosen up. Its Bacons charisma that really drives the movie forward; which is just as well as the story isnt all that great. Still, Footloose is easily his most physical performance, with Bacon throwing himself into the many dance scenes with great gusto. He doesnt always have the coolest looking dance moves, but he more than makes up for with his energy. That's not to say the character is one-dimensional though, as Ren is ultimately just a confused teenager struggling to understand the world. Bacons role in Footloose quickly saw his career ascent, and it will probably remain the role that hes best remembered for.
