Kevin Bacon: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

2. Ren McCormack - Footloose

Of course Footloose was going to be near the top - it was the film that made Bacon a movie star. He plays a teenager who moves to a small town that has banned dancing, so he makes it his personal mission to teach the squares how to loosen up. Or to be more title accurate, foot-loosen up. Its Bacon€™s charisma that really drives the movie forward; which is just as well as the story isn€™t all that great. Still, Footloose is easily his most physical performance, with Bacon throwing himself into the many dance scenes with great gusto. He doesn€™t always have the coolest looking dance moves, but he more than makes up for with his energy. That's not to say the character is one-dimensional though, as Ren is ultimately just a confused teenager struggling to understand the world. Bacon€™s role in Footloose quickly saw his career ascent, and it will probably remain the role that he€™s best remembered for.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
