Kevin Bacon: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked
4. David Labraccio Flatliners
Joel Schumacher (of Batman And Robin fame) directed this horribly dated thriller about a group of medical students that try to find out if theres life after death. The movie is smothered in blue light in an attempt to be moody, but it just makes it really depressing to sit through. None of the cast does great work here; they're either too over the top or in the case of Bacons character, way too understated. In keeping with the title his performance is totally lifeless, which might come from the fact he has the most boring role to play. David doesnt have much of a personality - hes supposed to be the rational one in the group; even his hallucination scenes are dull compared to the other characters. In the end its an empty role that Bacon doesnt bring any life too; which is ironic in all kinds of ways.
