"While there’s a feast of bonkers inventiveness in action sequences throughout, the story rubs a little too closely to the original."
"It’s best to think of Kingsman: The Golden Circle as less of a sequel, more an American remix. It’s still a thrilling ride with action sequences unmatched in their high-velocity blasts, but the new additions struggle to conceal the familiarity beneath this secret service." - Metro

It's clear Matthew Vaughn has attempted to recapture everything that made the Kingsman: The Secret Service raucous fun, but in the eyes of some reviewers, he stuck to close to the original's template.

Most critics lavished praise on The Golden Circle's action sequences, while admitting there is more on offer than base-level thrills, but an equal number felt it didn't differentiate itself enough from The Secret Service.

These comments come despite the film introducing American flavour in the form of the Statesmen, who some felt were largely underused, despite unanimously praising Pedro Pascal's elecrtic whip-wielding Whiskey.
