1. Elton John's Totally Excessive Cameo

It was revealed a long time ago that Elton John would be having an appearance in the movie, but the exact nature of it was kept fiercely under wraps, so it won't be given away here.

However, it can be said that John's surprisingly lengthy extended cameo, which sees him appear in several scenes throughout the film, is an excessive, running joke that stops becoming funny before long.

John is clearly enjoying himself and gets a few entertaining one-liners, but Vaughn leans on his involvement far too much, and what probably should've been a quick gag is raked over repeatedly to highly diminishing returns.

As disappointing as the film is, though, it's not all bad, so here's what Matthew Vaughn and co. got right...
