Kingsman: The Golden Circle Review: 3 Ups & 7 Downs

3. Taron Egerton's Charming Performance
For all of the film's issues, Taron Egerton still gives an entertaining and endearing performance as protagonist Eggsy, proving that his chav-with-a-heart-of-gold shtick from the first film wasn't a mere one-off, even if he's hardly working with the best material here.
Egerton can't help but entertain with so many brilliant actors to work opposite throughout the film, and he fully commits himself to the over-the-top action sequences, again proving surprisingly convincing despite not cutting a conventional action hero figure.
If the sequel succeeds more with audiences than critics, it'll be largely for Egerton's brave effort to try and keep the mess from totally imploding.
