Knightley in sci-fi clone movie from 28 DAYS LATER writer & director of ONE HOUR PHOTO!

Keira Knightley X2? Variety say Knightley will lead the Fox Searchlight science fiction movie NEVER LET ME GO, a new project in development for Mark Romanek (ONE HOUR PHOTO) to direct based on a screenplay by Alex Garland (28 DAYS LATER, THE BEACH). Romanek, who spent years putting blood, sweat and tears into a remake of THE WOLF MAN at Universal, only to drop out when creative decisions were taken away from him... will direct his first movie since the brilliant ONE HOUR PHOTO. Young Brit actress Carey Mulligan (who is getting rave reviews for the Nicky Hornby scripted AN EDUCATION which we reviewed at Sundance) will also star, alongside LIONS FOR LAMBS' Andrew Garfield.

Story revolves around a trio who grew up in a boarding school with no contact or knowledge of the outside world until they discover they are clones grown for the sole purpose of organ donation.
The film is being produced by DNA Films, the U.K. genre outfit behind 28 DAYS LATER and SUNSHINE and will lense in April in London and Norfolk, England. Lots of talent here and probably all of them working for a cut salary because they believe in the films concept and idea. Love Garland's novels, THE BEACH being one of my favourite ever books but his screenplays always feel a little bogged down and tired for me. But I've been anxious to see Romanek's next picture, it sucked what happened to him with THE WOLF MAN.
