Kong: Skull Island - 21 WTF Moments

16. The Awful Dubbing

Before we actually get to the island, but after Tom Hiddleston's pointless bad-ass is recruited, we get the usual conference room meeting where a scientist (the painfully wasted John Ortiz in a role that could have easily been replaced by a laser pointer and a projector) tells everyone that this perilous island is nothing to be worried about.

For some reason, the dubbing in this scene is horrendous, with Ortiz's character clearly saying updated dialogue that wasn't filled at the time. And rather than trying to artfully conceal it, the film-makers just left it in and distractingly obvious, like an over-dubbed foreign commercial.

Also, all of those guys in the blue jackets (the Landsat employees) are entirely pointless. Don't bother learning their names (you won't be invited to, in fact), because they might as well all just be called Cannon Fodder.
