Given his CV you'd have to imagine that Samuel L Jackson likes dying in monster movies, and he's such a legend of the genre that he has his own Easter Egg in Kong: Skull Island.

Just as he was sent into the fray against monstrous, hungry dinosaurs in Jurassic Park, his Packard invites his team to "hold on to your butts" as their helicopters head towards the Island.

It turns out, Vogt-Roberts didn't actually expect it to stay in the film, as he told Bustle:

Honestly, I put it in the script and thought for sure he was going to say ‘No way,'” the director tells me at the Los Angeles press day for the film. “I didn’t even mention it [to him]. I didn’t say anything about it. Then it happened, and I was like, ‘OK, we did that.’
