Kurt Russell: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

...And 5 That Sucked

5. Michael Zane - 3000 Miles To Graceland

3000 Miles To Graceland must have looked like a safe bet from the outside; it had Kevin Costner and Russell playing Elvis impersonators who rob a casino, and then get locked in a bloody feud over the heist money. It was going to be an edgy Tarantino style thriller; with the only problem being it sucked. It€™s a boring chore of a movie filled with terrible dialogue and flashy editing, and outside of Costner everyone gives a poor performance. Russell shows he can do a fantastic Elvis impersonation €“ which he already displayed when he played him in an Elvis TV movie €“ but his character is a jerk and Russell looks kind of miserable throughout. The movie is more interested in style and bloodshed than telling a story, and with everyone around him mugging for the camera he looks bored out of his mind. He probably signed up based on the cool concept, only to be faced with the horror of the final product; and by that point, there was litle he could do to save it.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
