Leonardo DiCaprio & Vinnie Jones team for Freedom?

Moviehole have spotted an interesting little article over at The Belfast Telegraph which claims that Leonardo DiCaprio and Vinnie Jones will star together in the movie historical epic Freedom Within the Heart. The film is kind of a viking tale (we've had quite a number of those recently) based on the life of Brian Boru, the last undisputed High King of Ireland, who fought off the invading invasion from those Scandinavian folk with horns. The film is being set up at Moron Films (yes, I know) with production starting in March of next year with Tuamgraney in east Clare, lobbying the Irish Film Board and Hollywood executives to bring the multi-million dollar film their to help with tourism. Obviously we should take this report with a huge grain of salt as these kind of news outlets often have their stories mixed up. I mean do you remember when British newspaper The Sun claimed Kiera Knightley would be filling the role of Princess Diania in a movie biopic of her life, only to find a couple of months later it was actually a film about an 18th century Duchess who had a similar kind of public profile to Diana? But we have no reason to doubt this story. DiCaprio's schedule sees him currently filming Body of Lies with Russell Crowe for director Ridley Scott but that will be completed well before this movie starts and unless Martin Scorsese is wanting to shoot a movie before the strike then his schedule is pretty clean. Irish writer/film-maker Mark Mahon will be directing from his own script. You probably won't have seen any of his work yet as he's just completed his debut movie Strength and Honor which hasn't had a general release. The movie stars Michael Madsen as a boxer who defy's his dying wife's last wish for him never to box again. Vinnie Jones stars in that movie too.
