9. Charles Rescues The Horses

Some of the best scenes in Logan aren't the absurdly violent, limb-severing action sequences, but the quieter moments free of major incident. One such interlude involves Logan being run off the road by some trucks, which also causes farmer Will Munson (Eriq La Salle) to lose control of his horse trailer, and for the horses to begin running into the road.

Charles begs Logan to help, at which point Charles uses his powers to manipulate the horses into returning to the safety of their horse box. It's a beautifully serene moment that's all the more affecting considering it directly opposes the great destruction Charles' mind is capable of.

That's what's so great about this movie: it takes its time telling its story, and there's not a single moment where it feels like a studio executive was breathing down Mangold's neck to trim things down.
