Logan: 15 Most Brutal Moments That Earned Its R-Rating
8. The Stuck Claw
Even before he's really got into his violent stride, we get easily the most difficult shot of the movie to watch involving only one character. After his opening fight, we see Logan struggling with his broken body, no longer protected by his near-invincible healing factor and pock-marked and mapped with deep gorges of scars.
He cleans himself up in a mirror, surveying himself almost as fascinated and disappointed as the audience, and his final act of the clean-up is to deal with the third claw on his right hand that jammed when he was doling out justice on the gangbangers who attacked his whip.
Anyone in the world who has struggled with erectile dysfunction (don't worry, if it happened to Pele, there's no shame admitting it) will recognise the agony of that performance issue, but everyone else got the brutal, agonising image of Logan forcibly pulling his own bone out of position to fix it. It ranks up there with the cuticle peeling scene in Black Swan for toe-curling awfulness.
