3. The New Mutants

At the minute, Fox have a number of projects that can be reasonably classified of teetering on the brink of development. We know there's a follow-up to X-Men: Apocalypse coming, we know there's possibly a Gambit movie coming, there's Deadpool 2 and there might be some sort of X Force. The only project that actually has greased wheels and a firm schedule is New Mutants.

So why not some sort of hype-building tease for Josh Boone's spin-off? it would certainly fit the Marvel approach to stingers.

How Likely Is it?

Well, there's very little of the film actually set in stone. So the idea of a 3 minute teaser with an entire new cast that hasn't even been announced yet from a film that isn't scheduled to begin shooting until Spring is something of a departure from reality.

BUT it's not entirely impossible: Fox and Boone could have shot something low key with James McAvoy's Professor X looking to set up a new team of younger mutants. And it would certainly fit the need to cheer up fans after Patrick Stewart's version is killed off.
