Logan: 7 Ways It Sets Up A Sequel

1. A New Wolverine

Wolverine is dead. Long live Wolverine.

Hugh Jackman has brought the curtain down on his 17-year stint as Logan, ensuring his legacy as an all-time great comic book actor and going out in incredibly fitting fashion.

But while Jackman is gone for good, there's no way the character of Wolverine will be. He's not just the best of the X-Men characters, but one of the most iconic and beloved comic book characters ever. If Warner Bros. can introduce a new Batman just four years after The Dark Knight trilogy, and a new Joker less than a decade after Heath Ledger, it probably won't be too big a gap until the new Wolverine.

Presumably he'd be introduced as part of an ensemble, either the main X-Men team with some tricksy timeline work or, if they want to do it earlier, the X-Force movie. It's likely Fox will already have started thinking about it, since Jackman confirmed a while back Logan would be his last movie - and we've got some suggestions on who it could be. It's just a matter of when, not if.

What direction would you like to see this corner of the X-Men universe go in next? Let us know down in the comments.
