Logan: Every Major Character Ranked From Worst To Best
9. The Munsons
Nobody in Logan gets screwed quite as much as The Munsons. They open their home to the pretend Howlett family after they save them from the bewitched Canewell trucks that seem to have a thirst for their blood, feed them, give them sanctuary and are then slaughtered pitilessly by X-24.
Their involvement is little more than emotional manipulation - which is why we get very little development beyond knowing they're put upon small-holders at the mercy of a corporate land-owning enemy - but each of the actors play their roles well. And they offer just enough of a flash of normalcy to make Logan's situation all the more tragic, even if it all comes crashing down in brutal fashion.
The shot of Nate lying with his guts open is one of the most haunting of the entire film, and a big statement that the film really wasn't messing around.
It's slightly unfortunate that the whole sequence is a little ruined by Will's sudden, temporarily invincibility that sees him survive X-24's initial attack for just long enough to crash him into the combine harvester, but it's nice he got some revenge at least.
