Lord Of The Rings: 10 Things You Didn't Know About Orcs
7. The Actor Who Played Nori Played Several Orcs In The LOTR
Peter Jackson used many members of the Lord of the Rings crew when he came to filming the Hobbit movies. Aesthetically, it made sense to use the same design teams, make up arts, props makers and even camera crew, for the sake of continuity with the original trilogy.
He also used a number of the same actors. Most notably, stuntmen/actor Jed Brophy, appeared as Nori, one of dwarves in Thorin's Company. Throughout the Lord of the Rings, he also had a number of onscreen roles, but due to the extensive prosthetic make-up he wore, you wouldn't know from looking.
He played Sharku, the warg rider who leads the ambush on the refugees of Rohan. But his most celebrated, and memorable role was the part of Snaga; the hungry orc maggot who suggested eating Merry & Pippin.
Brophy also portrayed the warrior of Rohan who find Théoden's injured son, in the extended edition of the Two Towers.
