Lurtz is a great example of the damage and villainy that the Uruk-Hai are capable of, but is not given a great amount of personality. While this character is hardly a ground-breaking antagonist, he at least suffers an incredibly exciting demise at the hands of our hero Aragorn.

At this point in the film, viewers hatred of this Uruk is sky-high. The beast had just pieced Boromir with multiple arrows and then began a dramatic fight to the death with Aragorn. The fight choreography on display is incredibly intense, with many moments of defeat looking close for the protagonist.

Finally, however, Aragorn gets the upper hand and manages to dismember his arm and then eventually pierce his stomach. To which Lurtz responds by pulling the blade further in until Aragorn finally gives him a decapitating swing and removes his head once and for all.

This death is excellent as it feels earned after what we had seen happen to a member of the fellowship, and Lurtz being antagonistic right up to the end is incredibly entertaining.
