10. The Ringwraiths' Scream Was Based On Fran Walsh With A Throat Infection - The Fellowship Of The Ring

Ever wondered what Jackson and his crew used to create the terrifying sound of the Ringwraith scream? Could it have been an animal being crushed under the wheels of a truck? A cross between a whale, a squirrel and a rabid dog? What, exactly, what is? In fact, the horrific noise that the Ringwraiths produce across the span of the trilogy was based on that of Peter Jackson's wife, Fran Walsh. Now, before you begin to get worried that Jackson might have crossed a bit of a line, it's important to note that the cry in question was based on sounds that Walsh made when she screamed with a nasty throat infection. Yes, that near unbearable, grating shriek was derived from the ill co-writer of The Lord of the Rings trilogy. God forbid you ever have to be around Fran Walsh when she's unwell.
