Lord Of The Rings Trilogy: 16 Easter Eggs, In-Jokes & References You Need To See

9. Brett McKenzie From Flight Of The Conchords Played An "Elven Escort" - The Fellowship Of The Ring

You're totally forgiven for never noticing this despite repeat viewings, because... well, look: Brett MacKenzie looks absolutely nothing like Brett MacKenzie in that photograph. At all. And yet, it's him, playing an Elven escort character to Liv Tyler's Arwen in The Fellowship of The Ring. His name? Though it's not official, fans have branded him as "Figwit," which apparently stands for "Frodo Is Great€Who Is That?" How very Flight of the Conchords. At the time that McKenzie starred in Fellowship, he wasn't actually famous. He was just a young man from New Zealand looking to become an actor. Although this wasn't really an intentional "easter egg" at its time of inclusion, then, in retrospect it's hilarious and way too brilliant to leave off of this list. Do enjoy telling all your friends about this one, won't you?
