Eva Longoria dismisses THE AVENGERS, but did she meet with Marvel over Wasp?

A few months shy of two years ago, Eva Longoria was spotted exiting Marvel's studios with a bunch of Avengers comics in hand, immediately setting off rumors tying her to Marvel's ensemble in the super heroine role of Janet Van Dyne, more popularly known in geek circles as The Wasp. The rumors geared up again this week when Fox News said the actress was 'close' to boarding The Avengers but Longoria has since taken the sting out of the story, claiming she met with Marvel's execs for another movie, but admits she would love to jump abroad the Avengers bandwagon if given the chance. Uh-huh, we are sure you would, Eva. Interestingly then, she doesn't dismiss the Wasp-role rumour, so maybe we got the role right, just in the wrong movie? Janet van Dyke was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby as the love interest of one very brainy Dr. Hank Pym (Ant-Man), so could she have met for Edgar Wright's movie . In order to shrink her down to size, Janet is given the "Pym particles", and then goes on to call herself The Wasp. Oh, she also grows a pair of wings and can shoot fireballs with her bare hands, becoming more like a lethal Tinkerbell than anything. If it wasn't Avengers/Ant-Man - what could it have been been? It must have been something and I'm stumped.
