M. Night Shyamalan's Glass: 7 Plot Predictions

4. Casey Cooke Dies, Or Is Written Out, Early On

Glass Split

Though Anya Taylor-Joy's Casey Cooke was one of Split's lead characters, at the end of the day, that film was Kevin's story.

We spend most of our time with him - the film even follows him on his psychiatrist appointments - and the final scene features him talking with his personalities, mentioning that The Beast is going to show the world "how powerful he can be."

Glass will bring Samuel L. Jackson's Elijah and Bruce Willis' David into the mix, creating a powerful, engaging trio of characters around which the film will revolve.

So... how exactly does Casey fit into all this?

If our earlier predictions are correct the film will detail the struggle between David, and Elijah and Kevin. How does Casey even get involved in that? Why would she even want to, considering the traumatic experience she endured during Split?

Yes, she despises her abusive uncle, but it's hard to imagine a teenage girl chasing down Kevin or Elijah (and remember, Elijah would have no qualms about hurting or killing her, and perhaps the same can be said of Kevin's other personalities, besides The Beast) and being able to stop them.

Casey simply feels like connective tissue, a way to more easily bridge the gap between Split and Unbreakable. We don't think she'll have much to do in this film at all, and even if she doesn't die early on, she won't have a big part to play in the film's central conflict.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
