4. Ruled: The Score

A great score can elevate a mediocre scene just as a bad one can detract from even the best movie moment - so when both are on point, it's magic. Like Miller, Junkie XL (aka Dutch composer  Tom Holkenborg)  really has outdone himself here with a soundtrack that's as bat-shit crazy as the movie itself.

A kinetic, at times bombastic mix of drums, strings, and industrial klang which swells to operatic levels at just the right moments, and recalls everything from the work of Patrick Doyle to Ennio Morricone.

Even when things slow down for the quieter scenes, the music is always present, bubbling under the surface waiting to explode again with the arrival of Immortan Joe's guitarist. When you see that guy and his similarly whacked out drummers, prepare yourself - that's when Junkie XL is gearing up to blow your damn head off.
