6. Let Lois Lane Do Something
What a waste of talent Amy Adams has been so far in this modern retelling of Superman. A bland love interest who's main task seems to be 'scream loudly' is not just a fault of these films but more a problem inherent with the wider genre. Still, if they are serious about 'updating' Superman for today's era, why leave Lois Lane in the dark ages of damsel in distress?
Admittedly she has dabbled in some investigating but nothing beyond finding out who Superman is and proving Superman isn't a murderer. Knowing that Clark and Supes are one and the same is a decent attempt at undercutting the ridiculousness of his disguise and having them live together, giving them the chance to discuss morality has the potential to be very interesting. Instead it is difficult to see Lois as an individual character with a life outside of the Man of Steel when everything she does revolves around him.
Currently, Lois begins and ends with Superman and this needs to be rectified in the sequel if she is to go down in film history as anything other than another empty love interest.
