2. Let Henry Cavill Actually Do Some Acting

Henry Cavill looks so much like the Superman from the pages of the comic book that he may well have been created in a lab for the purposes of the DCEU. It's a shame that so far the looks are all we've got to fall back on because he hasn't been allowed to act very much.

There are brief moments in Man of Steel, notably his interactions with the army during the Smallville finale and the interrogation scene where Cavill shows that he has the innate virtue along with the likeable charm necessary, making it even more perplexing that most of the time he has an unwavering frown.

Batman V Superman is the clear winner in the sad Superman contest whilst also being the film to waste the perfect opportunity to explain why so serious. Superman standing in front of the senate is the worst part of BVS and highlights everything wrong with Snyder's interpretation.

Here was the perfect opportunity for Cavill to do some prolonged acting, delivering a speech that conveyed Superman's dismay at the modern world along with his unrelenting love of humanity and desire to save us all regardless. Instead, everything blows up.

When given the chance, Cavill has shown he has the acting chops worthy for the 'S' emblazoned on his chest. The sequel needs to let him move away from being morose and into who Superman really is. Speaking of which...
