Man Of Steel: How To Easily Fix Snyder's 10 Biggest Mistakes

8. Clark Who?

clarkThe Problem The role the identity of Clark Kent plays in the Superman mythos has changed a lot over the decades. Initially, Clark Kent was just a disguise that enabled Superman to have a flexible work schedule and keep his ear to the ground, but later depictions changed this to where Superman was the disguise and Clark the real person. More recent interpretations are that there are actually three different characters€”there€™s the real Clark who grew up in Smallville, there€™s the mild-mannered Clark Kent, and there€™s Superman. But we don€™t see the Clark Kent identity at all until the closing minutes of the film. And while it€™s a great scene, we miss a whole lot of potentially great interactions with the rest of the Planet staff. The Fix Spare us the flashbacks to Smallville. They don€™t really show us anything we haven€™t already seen. Same goes for the long Krypton opening. I€™d rather see just flashes of these disasters prevented all over the world, leading up to the film opening in Metropolis where we see Clark Kent arriving at the Daily Planet. Clark Kent is such a crucial aspect of these mythos, and you can€™t just turn it into a brief Easter egg at the end of the movie.
