6. Krypton Under War
In what it's easy to assume will either be the opening portion of the film or a mid-film flashback, we appear to actually see Krypton getting destroyed in Man of Steel, but the question remains as to how this will come about. In initial Superman lore, Krypton was destroyed by natural causes, but this all changed with the Crisis on Infinite Earths arc, which asserted that civil war on Krypton tore the planet to shreds and brought about its end. Going by the above shot, it seems pretty clear that the result will be anything but natural; we can see many Kryptonian ships exploding across the lush vista that Jor-El is peering over, and we can assume that all-out war is what causes Jor-El to put his son on a ship headed for Earth.
