7. The Phantom Zone Will Show Up?
From this very brief glimpse we see of Zod and his cohorts captured, fans have already begun to speculate that this scene involves Zod and co. being sent to the Phantom Zone for their crimes; presumably it happens mid-way through the film rather than at the end (that would be a terrible spoiler to put in a trailer). What's clear is that it's a sure nod to the earlier Superman films where Zod met the same fate, though you can bet your bottom dollar that Zack Snyder and Christopher Nolan have found a way to subvert our expectations about how this scene plays out. I, for one, am super-curious (sorry) about how the Phantom Zone will look given that the film as a whole is a million miles away from the aesthetic of the Richard Donner film.
