Man Of Steel Trailer: 10 Things We Learned

4. Superman Back On Ass-Kicking Form

Man of Steel That said, at least Superman is making an effort to beat the villains to a pulp in this one. Bryan Singer's Superman Returns received a lot of flak not just for its unconventional narrative, which saw Clark more concerned with his relationship with Lois and his son rather than in kicking ass and taking names. There wasn't a whole lot of Superman being a badass despite the lengthy run-time, and the general lack of action seems to be the most vocal complaint across the board. It seems clear that, dodgy effects aside, Man of Steel is keen to rectify this; Superman's signature flying punch appears to be executed in great abundance, giving Supes his kick-ass reputation back, and probably entertaining a lot more kids in particular as a result. In fact, Snyder's mere trailer has more punching in it than in all of Singer's film, a sign that Snyder has actually listened to the complaints of fans.
