Mandy Moore & Rodrigo Santoro In Buried Screenwriter's FALLING SLOWLY
Having recently received grossly misappropriated praise as the voice of Rapunzel in Disneys latest 3D abomination, Tangled, the faux soft-rock pop star Mandy Moore has secured an unlikely role in the directorial debut of Buried screenwriter Chris Sparling. Variety report Moore is set to play the lead alongside Rodrigo Santoro (Che) in the supernatural drama Falling Slowly which will be produced by Julie Snyder (Tanner Hall) and should film this year. Falling Slowly is set to feature the familiar trope of a couple whose new home is possessed and will likely be a low-budget production, though clearly more then the $2 million it cost to make Buried! Even though he received, in this writer's opinion, much ill-deserved acclaim for Buried- whose dialogue was crafted and dramatical but, plainly, badly lacking in cinematic sensibility- Sparling has hardly been standing still, having written ATM (yet to be released) and the second film of the M Night Shyamalan series, The Night Chronicles, which will be a sequel to Devil and is provisionally entitled Reincarnate.
