Marvel: 15 Biggest MCU Rumours You Need To Know (Jan 15th)

Thanks to Disney lovers @stitchkingdom, the first official synopsis for Thor: Ragnarok we have the first official synopsis for Thor: Ragnarok and not only does it seemingly confirm that the film is drawing on elements of Planet Hulk.

Here's the synopsis:

"In Marvel Studios’ ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok — the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization — at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger — the Incredible Hulk!"

The most interesting suggestion from that synopsis is that Thor and Hulk will actually fight across an arena, which seems to be the story most sites picked out from the the text. That in itself is only a theory at this stage.

Plus, thanks to an interview with director Taika Waititi in Total Film we know that Hulk and Thor will actually meet on Sakaar, the titular planet of the comic book arc. That's not so much a rumour as an outright confirmation.

Rating: 7/10

Whether Thor and Hulk actually come to blows or not remains to be seen, but you can just see Thor being thrown into the gladiatorial arena and the first sight we get of Hulk being him in his iconic armour coming to smash him before recognising his "friend". Having them actually fight can only end one way, and they need to team up.

And as for Planet Hulk, you can take that as gospel, given the source.
