Marvel Cinematic Universe: 10 Biggest Retcons Made By Marvel Studios
3. Gamora Isn't That Special After All
In Guardians of the Galaxy, it was revealed that the MCU's version of Gamora was the adopted daughter of Thanos and the last of her people. That latter point came our way courtesy of the Nova Corps, but Avengers: Infinity War would later make it clear that the Mad Titan didn't wipe out the Zehoberi after all.
A flashback in the 2018 movie showed the moment Thanos met Gamora for the first time. However, instead of killing her entire race, he just had his forces murder half of them.
That was the villain's modus operandi as he travelled from planet to planet before getting his hands on the Infinity Stones, and while it seems likely that Gamora's mother was among the dead, the fact Thanos even talks about her planet thriving confirms that her people are still very much alive.
That makes Gamora that little bit less special, but with the 2014 pre-Guardians of the Galaxy version of her now part of the MCU, it should be interesting seeing whether she heads home in Vol. 3.
