And so we arrive at the next member of the Black Order on this list, Ebony Maw, a character whose strength comes from his intellect rather than any sort of physicality. Whereas someone like Cull Obsidian can lead an army from the front line, Ebony Maw prefers to work behind the scenes, a master manipulator that Thanos respects for his mind.

In Infinity War, all signs have pointed to Ebony Maw being present during the attack on the Asgardian ship set up at the end of Thor: Ragnarok, the character's legs being seen strolling through the dead bodies in the trailer. And with Cull Obsidian busy in Wakanda and the other two siblings, Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive, tied up with obtaining (at least) the Mind Stone, it seems that Ebony Maw will be the one tasked with retrieving the Time Stone from Doctor Strange.

One of the neater aspects of the Black Order concept is that they're not simply just brawn over brains, and Ebony Maw represents that, a different kind of threat who needs to be outsmarted to be beaten instead of simply punched into submission. And with Strange, Wong, Tony Stark, and Bruce Banner all banded together following the latter's return to Earth, as seen in the trailer, both Maw and our group of heroes have a solid challenge ahead of them in facing one another.
