Marvel Cinematic Universe: 10 Things That Could Prematurely End It

7. Being Overtaken By Other Universes

Marvel may be the top dog now, but being on form at the moment doesn€™t guarantee they€™ll stay that way. DC are moving to build up their own cinematic universe in a similar manner to Marvel. They have the name recognition of three of the most famous superheroes ever created in Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman and even if Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice is a critical flop, it€™s going to draw in millions of people just on the promise of the two biggest superheroes ever being in a movie together. Meanwhile, the X-Men universe seems to have been reinvigorated with the injection of fresh acting talent and the return of original director Bryan Singer, and has had their own recent summer hit with Days Of Future Past. They€™ve got an acting stable to rival anyone and are promising some really exciting stories with Apocalypse coming into play. There€™s even the potential for the new Fantastic Four movie to pull it out the bag and give Marvel€™s best a run for their money. And while Sony are trying to do a deal to include Spider-Man in The Avengers, it€™s hard to see them letting the webslinger stay down for long. With all these other Superhero franchises breathing down Marvel€™s neck, the MCU is going to have to keep upping its game to stay ahead. If it fails, and one of the others takes the chance to leap into the lead, it€™s going to be hard for Marvel to regain the lost ground - and the acclaim that goes with it.
