Marvel Cinematic Universe: 11 Steps To Redeeming Loki

9. Show Him Genuinely Grieving For His Mother

Loki obviously loved his mother and he was actually shown venting some anger when she died in Thor: The Dark World. Hey, it's a start! But what's really needed in order to show that he actually possesses a heart is some real sadness and grieving over her tragic and untimely death. Both Loki and Thor seemed to get over her death far too quickly, to be fair, but at least Thor did so while being a decent guy. No sooner had Frigga passed away than Loki was posing as her husband, after having done Odin-knows-what to him. Some tears and genuine grief would really prove that Loki is capable of being a half-decent individual - and his redemption would definitely have something missing if he didn't truly show that he missed his mother (or, perhaps, that he was actually redeeming himself out of respect for her).
