Marvel Cinematic Universe: 5 Films That Should Appear In Phase 3

3. Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange has been in discussions as a potential addition to the MCU for a long time. There are a number of hints that have been dropped to suggest that Doctor Strange will have his own film in Phase Three, and will also be part of Avengers 3. Kevin Feige, has been mentioning the possibility of a Doctor Strange film in many of his interviews. In a recent interview, he said "Doc Strange, as I've been saying for years, is a movie I believe we should make. We're just figuring out how to make it a great movie. It is in active development right now. I think it'll be the middle of next year before we announce officially what the post-Ant-Man films will be." Short of an official announcement, a Doctor Strange film is all but confirmed for Phase Three. Doctor Strange would be a useful addition to the MCU in a number of ways. He would introduce a more magical aspect to the MCU, allowing for many more potential stories. With the right actor, he is also potentially a replacement main character for Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man who has been heavily relied on for the success of the MCU. There have been a few hints in the MCU that Doctor Strange exists and could have his own film and be part of Avengers 3: - The Orb of Agamotto was shown as one of the items in Odin's vault in the first Thor film. The orb is a mystical item owned by Doctor Strange, used for clairvoyance. - If Odin's vault is raided in Thor 3 by someone such as Surtur seeking the Eternal Flame, it is very possible that some of the other items in the vault will go missing, and the orb could end up in the hands of Doctor Strange. - Doctor Strange is a significant character in the Infinity Gauntlet story. If The Avengers 3 is based on the Infinity Gauntlet story, Doctor Strange is very likely to be included in the film.
