Marvel Cinematic Universe: Every 2018 Project Ranked Worst To Best
9. Cloak & Dagger: Season 1
It took several years, but Tyrone "Cloak" Johnson and Tandy "Dagger" Bowen finally made their debut in the MCU over the summer. Like Runaways, the show took advantage of its teen leads to appeal to a bit of a younger audience, which means it may not be for everybody, whether it be those looking for something like the larger than life adventures of the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or the more "adult" material of the Netflix shows, but it turned out to be an entertaining watch nonetheless for anybody eager for smaller scale stories set within the MCU.
Its early episodes struggled with some pacing issues, but it's forgivable when the show is clearly finding its footing, and by the time the episode "Lotus Eaters" rolled around - one of the first season's standout episodes - things clicked into place, particularly as Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph grew more comfortable in their roles. As a setting, New Orleans also proved to be a welcome character all its own, a refreshing break from the MCU's love of New York City.
Of course, the season didn't shy away from connections to the MCU at large, name-dropping Misty Knight, Danny Rand, and Tony Stark, and further developing the Darkforce, and even ended on a good hook for season two with Brigid O'Reilly's emergence as Mayhem. Taken as a whole, the first season had its growing pains - as most first seasons tend to - but came out the other end a pretty solid debut for the iconic duo with a world of potential ahead for where the show can go next.
