Marvel Cinematic Universe: Every One-Shot & Webseries Ranked Worst To Best

3. Slingshot

Slingshot dropped in December of 2016 while the fourth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was already in full swing, allowing Elena "Yo-Yo" Rodriguez - a character who had been around since the middle of the third season - the chance to take the spotlight and get some closure surrounding the death of her cousin at the hands of corrupt former Colombian police officer Victor Ramon.

Of course, all the usual mainstays showed up for appearances, like Coulson, FitzSimmons, and Quake, but Slingshot was Yo-Yo's story through and through, tying up a major loose end for her character. On top of that, it even had the opportunity to play a bit with the mythology of both the show and the universe of the MCU, like bringing the Peruvian 0-8-4 from the series' first season back into play and dealing with Yo-Yo having to sign the Sokovia Accords.

The webseries has yet to have either a direct follow-up or spiritual successor, but its success in helping a then-recurring character get the opportunity to take central stage has made it hard not to want more. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has had many characters throughout its run and several smaller loose ends that could carry a short webseries like Slingshot - a Koenig family adventure, anyone? - and hopefully Yo-Yo's story won't be the last one told.

And if you haven't seen it yet, all episodes are available to watch for free on YouTube.
