Marvel Cinematic Universe: Ranking Every Upcoming Project By Anticipation

5. The Punisher

Marvel Cinematic Universe
Netflix

The Punisher is a long-time fan favourite comic character, a true anti-hero who is willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done, but with a well-developed backstory and level of understanding. While there have been a few attempts at bringing the character to the screen, they've fallen down either due to casting, or the script/direction letting the right person down.

They finally got it right with Jon Bernthal in Daredevil earlier this year, the Walking Dead alum capturing everything that makes Frank Castle appeal to fans; ferocious, intense, and conflicted. He wasn't just a great part of Season 2, he made you want to see a lot more of him, and Netflix have listened.

Although not a part of the Defenders (don't rule out an appearance there though), The Punisher is getting his own show, and while there's not much known about it, this could be Netflix's darkest and most violent series yet.

Air Date: Expected 2018
