6. Black Panther

Marvel Studios

Much like a female solo film, it's taken Marvel a while to get round to producing one led by a black superhero as well, but it's something that is at least very much on the agenda with Black Panther.

After the character's introduction in Civil War there's a lot of reasons to be excited for his solo movie, such as the opportunity to really explore Wakanda, the cast being put together for the movie (Lupita Nyong'o, Michael B. Jordan, and Danai Gurira joining Chadwick Boseman), and the fact that Creed's Ryan Coogler is directing.

Most of all, however, it's simply that Black Panther in Civil War was an absolute badass, and the thought of spending a couple of hours in his company, really getting to peel back the layers of both him and T'Challa and what they represent to Wakandians, is an incredibly exciting one.

Release Date: February 16, 2018.
